Promote Local Water Solutions through the Water Stewardship Toolbox
Introduction
Help companies build their stewardship awareness, understanding, and capacity through the Water Stewardship Toolbox! Share best practices from your country with others around the world.
The CEO Water Mandate’s Water Stewardship Toolbox is an online compendium of water stewardship tools, datasets, best practices, case studies, guidances, reports, and more from the Mandate and dozens of other organizations around the world. It assists companies of all sizes, from all locations, and all levels of water stewardship experience, to understand their water risks and advance sustainable water management. It now features over 500 resources and is updated on a weekly basis.
Business networks around the world can facilitate use of the Toolbox – and therefore help build stewardship capacity – by:
-
Suggesting water stewardship resources and other local solutions for inclusion on the Toolbox
-
Sharing the Toolbox with their members
-
Selecting specific resources from the Toolbox based on local circumstances to share with network members
-
Holding webinars and events showcasing the Toolbox
-
Translating the Toolbox into more languages
Suggesting New Resources for the Toolkit
Networks can support capacity building via the Toolbox is to suggest resources, especially those that elucidate helpful local water solutions, for inclusion on the platform. In doing so, they can ensure companies from their country and across the world gain access to these valuable approaches.
Similarly, companies can solicit suggestions from their network members for inclusion on the Toolbox. In this way, they can ensure that other companies in their network and beyond have access. Ultimately, we want the Toolbox to be the world’s primary catalog of water stewardship resources. Networks can play an invaluable role in identifying helpful and innovative water stewardship resources.
To suggest an addition to the Toolbox, email the Mandate Secretariat at: ceowatermandate@unglobalcompact.org with the name of the resource, a URL to the resource itself, and a description of why you belief it is a valuable addition to the Toolbox.
How to Use the Toolkit
Networks can also help build capacity by introducing companies to the Toolbox and teaching them to leverage it into improved stewardship capacity.
The Toolbox Library can be found at: https://www.ceowatermandate.org/toolbox/library
From this page, network representatives and companies alike can use the filters on the left side to identify resource of particular relevance to them and their country. For example, the India network could select “Asia” from the region list to identify Asia-specific resources. Or, if the network is located in area particularly effective by water quality concerns, they might select “6.3: Water quality” from the SDG Targets list to target resources that can help them understand and combat pollution.
Once selecting the appropriate filters, the library will automatically list only the resources the meet your search requirements. You can then click on each resource to learn more about it, and ultimately visit the resource itself.
Drive Engagement
The Mandate Secretariat is adding resources to the Toolbox every week and sharing them via the @H2O_stewards Twitter account.
